  In Memory of tbsaver

There was a private service for Tracey Watson on January 9. L-word.com sent flowers on behalf of everyone on the site. Tracey's family has asked us to share this with you :

Dear Jacky and L-Word Fans,

Pete and I would like to thank everyone that wrote their thoughts and feelings on the L-Word website after hearing about Tracey’s passing.

We were so moved by the lovely words and sentiments, it truly touched our hearts. Your words brought us some comfort in the dark days and nights following her death, we never realised just how well loved she was and how much enjoyment her writing bought to people.

We think about her everyday and remember the fantastic times we shared together, visiting Birmingham Football club, holidays in Spain and Barcelona, her unmistakable laugh and cheeky smile. We love her always and take comfort knowing she is watching over us.

Jacky, we would also like to say a special thank you to you for the beautiful flowers you sent in the shape of an L, thank you so much, and for the lovely tribute you published on your website to Tracey.

Yours truly,

Margaret and Pete Watson

Anne Ramsay has asked us to share this message with all of you:

"Please send my sincerest condolences to Tracey's family, friends, and loved ones."

L-Word.com Note: At this time, the memorial service information is being held private by Tracey's family.

L-word.com would like to share with you this letter from Rachel Shelley sending her condolences about our friend, tbsaver/Tracey Watson.

I was so sorry to hear the terribly shocking news about Tracey Watson, so soon after meeting her at the convention. I only had the pleasure of spending a short time with her, but was struck by her good humour, her great sense of fun and admirable commitment to her work. I feel very lucky to have known her if ever so briefly.

My condolences to you, and to everyone who knew her through the site and beyond. I know she will be sorely missed.

With best wishes,

Rachel

From L-word.com: It is with profound sadness that we must share with you that Tracey Watson aka "tbsaver" --site moderator, fan fiction writer, interviewer (Laurel Holloman), and friend to many-- died on Tuesday, December 20.

She had a brief illness and died at home at the age of 39. Below, you will find a memorial written by Seahurst (Michelle Thompson).

If you'd like to leave comments, Seahurst will also post this as a fan fiction story, where comments can be posted.

Our hearts are heavy and we share this sadness with all of Tracey's friends. Our prayers are with her parents and family.

One of this site’s favorites is gone...way too soon.

It is with absolute heartache, that I share with you the loss of a woman whose quick wit and open heart, touched every person she came in contact with...a woman I am privileged to have known and loved. On December 20th, Tracey Watson aka TBSaver passed away in Birmingham England. She was 39 years old.

As I sit here, trying to find the words to describe a woman who I absolutely adored, I just keep thinking about her writing. Please, take the time to read her story, “A Walk on the Wild Side.” By doing that, I think you will be able to see some of the wonderful characteristics this incredible woman possessed. I know it was her story that drew me to her in the first place...feeling a need to get to know the woman who wrote so beautifully. And, even though her story is not finished, just know that because it was Tracey who was writing it, there was never a doubt that Bette and Tina were always going to have a happy ending.

Smart.... funny.... sassy... kind... gentle... daring... understanding... sexy... curious... vibrant... loving... exciting... intuitive... goofy... serious... adventuresome... and so incredibly generous of spirit. These are a few simple words that just barely touch the surface of who Tracey was as a woman, as a human being. However, the one word that will always remind me of her --the one quality that stood out from all the others-- was that she was the truest of all romantics. You could feel it in her writing--you experienced it every moment as her friend.

She has touched so many women on this site. It was on this site where she met her best friend, who also lives in England. What a hoot it was to be around them! They were like two peas in a pod... totally hilarious to watch. And, when they really got going, I have to admit I had trouble following them because of their accents!! She met and became friends with other women on this site as well. Women from all over the world, of all different backgrounds... of all different ages. She cherished this online community of women. Cherished being a part of so many different lives. Please know that you all meant so much to her.

I will not presume to put words into her mouth, but I know she LOVED getting comments on her story. She was so cute about it...staying online after she posted a chapter, no matter how late it was, just so she could read the first couple of comments that came in! She was so into watching The L Word...and could talk about each and every episode. And, like many of us, she was a fan fiction addict!! I can’t tell you how many conversations we had about all the different stories! I was constantly amazed at how good her memory was. I am not kidding... she remembered EVERY story she read... and for the longest time, she read EVERY story posted! She also got a BIG kick out of different comments made on the discussion board.

Tracey shared with me her dreams for her life. She wanted to buy a boat that she could live on...and then after that experience, she wanted to move back to Spain, where she had lived for five years, live in a villa, and write for a living. She loved her time in Spain, and she absolutely loved to write. They were beautiful and gorgeous dreams. And, I have no doubt she would have done everything in her power to make them her reality. What makes me so proud, and breaks my heart at the same time, is that she had sent a story off to an agent for representation, and they had contacted her, expressing great interest. She was so talented... so full of love that she wanted to share through telling a story.

Tracey Watson was a woman who was always thinking about everyone else. It was very important to her that she do whatever she could to make those close to her happy. She was kindness personified... and so incredibly loving. Tracey had the perfect combination of sensibility and romanticism.... her personality was so inviting, making every one around her feel loved, and comfortable. Her favorite nickname for those in her life, was “flower.” I know that I smiled every time she called me by that name. All that, and she was an excellent cook as well!!

I ask that you take a moment to think about those you love... to remember why you love them. And, if you could, please add Tracey to your thoughts. I know that I will always cherish the time I was fortunate enough to spend with her... the hours and hours of instant messaging... the countless phone conversations...our time in San Diego and in England. I am just one of many whose hearts are heavy and who will miss her terribly.
