POWER UP PREMIERE

POWER UP is the only non profit, all volunteer run, entertainment organization
made up of the who's who of "Gay Hollywood."  On Sunday, November 20, 2005,
at The Beverly Hills Hotel the 5th Annual Power Premiere Gala will be held to raise money to support all of the educational programs, films and events for POWER UP's next term.

Ilene Chaiken will receive the Artistry Award presented by the cast.  The 10 Amazing Women in Showbiz Award goes to Jamie Babbit, Roberta Munroe, Jenny Wall, Angela Robinson, Gwen Marcus, Jenny Stewart, Dannielle Thomas, Eileen Opatut, Jane Lynch and Lauren Lloyd for their outstanding achievements in the entertainment industry.

In less than 5 years POWER UP has produced 12 short films and participated in many more. POWER UP has given away more than 1 million dollars in cash and in-kind gifts. The POWER UP films have been an official selection of the Sundance Film Festival, and the winner of the PlanetOut Awards for the past 4 years. POWER UP grantees have gone on to write and/or direct independent and studio features as well as writing and directing for television. In their fifth year, POWER UP celebrates the talent, vision and accomplishments of these filmmakers and begin the process of our first feature film.
