On Sunday, November 12, 2006, at The Beverly Hills Hotel the 6th Annual Power Premiere Gala will be held to raise money to support all of the educational programs, films and events for POWER UP's next term. POWER UP is the only non profit, all volunteer run, entertainment organization made up of the who's who of "Gay Hollywood."

The Premiere Award will go to Logo Network and Pie Town Productions.

The 10 Amazing Women in Showbiz Award goes to Diane Anderson-Minshall, Executive Editor, Curve Magazine; Stephanie Gibbons, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Promotions FX Networks; Cherry Jones, Actress; Meredith Kadlec, Vice President, Original Programming, here! Networks; Dina LaPolt, Entertainment Attorney at LaPolt Law, P.C; Rosie Lopez, Head of International A&R, Marketing and New Media at Tommy Boy; Kirsten Schaffer Senior Director of Programming and Operations for Outfest, Jenny Shimizu Actor/Producer/Model; Lisa Thomas, Berkeley-based Entrepreneur/Activist; Sarah Warn, Writer/Editor/afterellen.com for their outstanding achievements in the entertainment industry.

There will be a sneak peek Behind the Scenes look at POWER UP's first feature film Itty Bitty Titty Committee starring Melonie Diaz, Nicole Vicius, Daniela Sea, Guinevere Turner, Carly Pope, Jenny Shimizu and Melanie Mayron, directed by Jamie Babbit.

The Host of the Power Premiere is comedian Michele Balan from the Last Comic Standing.

POWER UP has produced 12 short films and participated in many more. POWER UP has given away more than 1.5 million dollars in cash and in-kind gifts. The POWER UP films have been an official selection of the Sundance Film Festival, and the winner of the PlanetOut Awards. Our grantees have gone on to write and/or direct independent and studio features as well as writing and directing for television.
