| JANINA GAVANKAR SET TO PLAY "PAPI" IN SEASON FOUR |

Showtime Television recently announced that the role of “Papi” will be played by actress Janina Gavankar.
“Papi” will present many challenges to current reigning “L Word” Casanova, “Shane McCutcheon”. Unlike “Shane”, Showtime describes “Papi” as being “loud, bossy and boastful.” The new Latina character should add some drama to the canvas after season three’s “Shane and Carmen” cliffhanger.
No stranger to big and small screens alike, Gavankar’s credits include the films “Bull Run” to be released in 2006, “Cup of My Blood”, “Barbershop” and “Barbershop 2: Back in Business”. On the small screen, she has made appearances on shows such as “Strong Medicine”.
Acting is not Gavankar’s only talent. A graduate of the University of Illinois in Chicago with a performance degree, Gavankar is a musician with vocal, piano and percussion ability. She toured with the group, “Endera” for two years.
