THE END IS NEAR
Well, the end of the L word! And based on many reactions I'm seeing,
many of you think the time has come :-)
So what happens next for those of us who will love the girls for
years to come, in spite of the character assaults waged upon them
by the writers?
First, L-word.com isn't going anywhere! We'll be around for a long,
long time.
- Fan Fic writers will continue to entertain you all, as they've
been doing for six years. In fact, we'll be opening a NEW fan
fic section on L-word.com that will host the POST SHOW stories.
This archive will be built with our updated FanFicFan software,
allowing the writers to properly have books with chapters. Also,
the commenting system ROCKS ... allowing for threaded comments
and emoticons.
- We'll give you updates on each actress, following their careers
and activities. As always, we'll have reports and photos from
various events.
- Our forum will continue to host all your discussions and friendships.
- Our new site, www.AlicesChart.com will also allow you to create
profiles, blog, form groups, post bulletins, and so much more
that we don't have on L-word.com. Sure, we have fan fic and art
there, too, but the two sites compliment each other, and we invite
you to participate in both!
To celebrate the end of the show, we're doing something really
fun -- we're going to be auctioning off some cool @l-word.com email
addresses. The first is bette&tina@l-word.com Check
out the auction info.
Also, please support us in our endeavors to keep our community
pushing forward by joining L-word.com
Premier.
We all know that as time goes by, our attention will wander to
other shows and other actresses. But we at l-word.com have the tools
available to respond to our new loves -- and new shows! We'll always
be on the lookout for our next show that we'll all embrace ...and
love... hate...and write fan fic about and discuss until our partners,
families, and friends think we've gone off the deep end. :-)
To me, the most important thing that came from this show is the
friendships that I have personally made and community that has been
forged around this show. I'll have more to say about that on Monday.
Until then, enjoy the SERIES FINALE. I'll be thinking about all
of you!
