Welcome to this new feature here at L-Word.com, called Kace's Countdown. A big thanks to Jacky, who liked my Season 3 Top 50 Memorable Moments enough to let me do lists every week. If there's a lists you'd like to see me tackle, by all means hit me up on email, kace@l-word.com and give me a shout. Feedback is welcome as always and speaking of which...here're some from my Top 50 Moments list.
FEEDBACK FEEDBACK
Stacie23- I think you're right. Season 3 really was Alice & Dana's year and they made the most of it.
moloko - I'm hoping the same thing as far as Alice/Lara goes. Season 3 started off with the promise of great humour, but then it all went dark and moody.
Gigi88 - By all means, rewatch Season 3...just not all in 1 serving like I did.
MASTAMIND360 - I wouldn't necessarily call it a slop. Depressing, given the last 3 episodes but not a slop. But believe me, I understand the sentiment.
Now then…
The Top 10 Characters I'd Like To See Stick Return For Season 4!!!
First off, main characters that are presumbably coming back like Bette, Tina, Shane, Alice, Helena, Jenny, Max, Kit, Angus and so on aren't on the list. Marina's been confirmed officially in a promo so she's not on it, either. Otherwise she'd be near the top of the list. Melvin, Mr. Piddles and as much as it pains me, Dana are also not on the list for obvious reasons. Please consider that these are just my opinions...other opinions may vary. And they probably do.
ON WITH THE LIST!!!
#10- Dylan Moreland
I'm a firm believer in redemption and Dylan is definetly a character that could use some. She had some great scenes with Helena and it's a shame things turned out the way they did with her. Many Dylan fans especially are hoping that's not the end of it for her.
#9- Candace Jewell
Just imagine how fun things would get if Candace were to pop in now, especially given the circumstances of Bette & Tina's relationship. At full disclosure, I used to be part of the Candace Army which was based on the idea of 'shipping Bette/Candace over Bette/Tina. To this day, I'm probably not that welcomed in Denialville as a result, but eh well. All in good fun and if Bette/Tina ever figure things out and get together again, no problem. But still...Candace should return.
#8- Ivan Aycock
She's the Drag King Superstar and it's only a matter of time before Ivan and Kit settle their issues...at least that's what I'm hoping. Plus, I like Kelly Lynch so there. All I ask is please...shave those armpits!!!
#7- Leigh Ostin
This could probably filed under the McMahon Folder, 'cause there's probably No Chance In Hell of this one happening for the time being. The reason being that Cobie Smulders is busy having fun on her sitcom, How I Met Your Mother (great, great, GREAT show, by the way). I know people like to reminisce about Helena/Dylan or Helena/Tina. Me? I liked the brief pairing of Helena/Leigh. We all have our favorites. This is not to say that she would HAVE to be with Helena...but if it's enough of an excuse to get her back on the show, I'm all for it.
#6- Dax
What can I say, I like her. She had a brief dialogue exchange with Kit in Season 2 and throughout the series has been seen mostly in the background (or on stage performing as a Drag King). Having spoken with Luvia Petersen, who plays the role it's hard not to fall for the gal, plus she's really into the show. So here's to hoping that she gets a chance to shine.
#5- Tonya
Meredith McGeachie was outstanding as Tonya, whether with Dana or breaking up with her for Melissa Rivers. Even though I didn't like the idea of her being with Dana, I still liked the character's goofy charm anyway. What I'd really like though would be for something I've been waiting for since Season 1 and that's a meeting of the minds between Tonya and Lara. Hard to believe it still hasn't happened yet.
#4- Uta Refson
I admit to shuddering a little when I first heard The L Word was gonna have a vampire character in Season 3. Then we, the viewers were introduced to Uta, played by Erica Cerra and suddenly everything was okay. I realize Erica's kinda busy nowadays with that Eureka show on Sci-Fi, or as I call it, "That Show That Comes On Before ECW." But still...I'd love to see her come back.
#3- Robin
Anne Ramsay provided arguably one of the most underutilized and human characters on the show with Robin in Seasons 1 and 2. Her venture into the Land Of The Dead Marios is still frowned upon by some of us, including myself. In a show full of insanity, Robin provided a nice balance of calm reassurance which is sorely needed after Season 3.
#2- Carmen de la Pica Morales
Had Season 3 ended with Carmen becoming Carmen de la Pica Morales-MacCutcheon, there'd probably be no need for her to be on this list in the first place. As it is however and given my refusal to check in all that much with the spoiler stuff, I have no choice, but to recognize her on this list and rank her 2nd on it at that. I'd hate for things to end for her the way they did in Season 3 and that's not even taking into consideration the Sharmen 'shippers may be on the verge of setting up a suburb to Denialville. Sarah Shahi's Carmen has become one of those endearing characters fans have rallied around and hopefully it's not the end for her.
#1- Lara Perkins
Much like Carmen, I have no choice, but to recognize Lara on this list although I shouldn't have to. Given the uncertainty heading into Season 4, she might be there for the beginning, but I and a lot of other fans of the Lara character (and LL Smith fans overall) are hoping for something a little more than that. For me, she's the character who along with Dana provided the moment that forever hooked me to the show in the first place, so is Lara were to leave it'd be devastating as a fan.
But that's what I think...how 'bout you? Feel free to leave yer feedback! |
