Holloman, Kirshner, and Moennig to Appear at L2 Convention!!

LONDON – July 9, 2006

Should you be living in London or visiting during November 10-12, 2006, you might want to participate in the L2 Convention. According to “Starfury”, the success of their first L Word Convention in 2005 was so immense that they decided to host another 3 day convention to celebrate the L Word.

Potential convention attendees might enjoy a little background on the event to know what they can expect. The convention enjoyed its debut at a hotel in Heathrow last year. It hardly seemed likely that the event would be a success since it received very little press and offered a disclaimer that not all of the anticipated stars were guaranteed to attend.

Those who believed that the event would not be well attended by fans and featured guests were sorely mistaken. According to accounts of last year’s convention, the show’s actresses were greeted by what can only be described as a throng of enthusiastic and excited admirers.

Planning on heading off to London for this year’s convention to see headliners “Tina”, “Jenny”, and “Shane”? You will be pleased to know that last year’s actors were reported to be gracious, generous and grateful for their fans. They spent hours signing autographs and speaking with giddy L Word viewers. As for their feelings about the conference, Meredith McGeachie, who played “Tonya” said “This whole weekend has been thrilling. If I can make an impact on someone’s life for the better then I’m going to honor and appreciate that.”

Actress Laurel Holloman, who attended the event last year, was picked up by one of adoring fans. To the fan who literally swept her off her feet, Holloman exclaimed “My, aren’t you strong!”

While some of the actors kept mum about their private lives, Holloman was said to be extremely open in a convention Q & A session and spoke of incorporating her own real life pregnancy into the storyline. “Incorporating my pregnancy into the storyline was a hugely intense experience. I’ll be honored to show my daughter the series and tell her that she was a part of something great. I hope that, as she grows up, she’ll be able to see all sorts of characters on TV, and the L Word will just be one of many shows about lesbians.”

Her daughter didn’t have to wait for an introduction to the show very long as she was one of the babies in the song circle when we meet “Angus”, baby “Angelica’s” nanny.

Among the cast members scheduled to attend this year’s convention are Laurel Holloman (“Tina Kennard”), Mia Kirshner (“Jenny Schecter”), and Katherine Moennig (“Shane McCutcheon”).
