The L Word Ladies – Up-close and Personal: Kate Moennig

They captured your attention on the TV screen. They made you laugh, they made you cry and, occasionally, they made you scream at your TV. But whatever emotions the ladies of The L Word evoked in you, they are the ones who keep you coming back every Sunday night when the show airs on Showtime and inspire you to travel all over the world to attend different fan and signing events.

My latest travel adventure brought me up-close and personal with five amazing and delightful women that one way or another evoked some strongest and often unexpected emotions in me. It made me realize that the cast members love The L Word as much as we do and because of that I, personally, would like for this show to go on forever, even if sometimes I don’t like where some storylines are going.

This show still remains one of the kind and all of the cast members are very special to their fans. So, without further ado let me introduce the ladies of The L Word whom I recently met, talked to and learn a lot from. They are: charming and hilarious Leisha Hailey, gorgeous and adorable Laurel Holloman, shy and mischievous Mia Kirshner, lovely and big-hearted Kate Moennig, and beautiful and talented Guinevere Turner.

Kate’s thoughts on Kate

Kate loves acting and that if the role was worth it that she would go all the way for it. She enjoyed doing “Guardians” play in New York, but for right now she would like to take a break because it was a very busy year for her.

Kate doesn’t really like to travel. She doesn’t like flights in general because she gets fidgety after a couple of hours. It’s not her nature. So far, LA to London was the longest flight she had ever taken. Kate said that she’s more of a homebody and likes to hang out at her house. From all the places she did visit, Kate loves Vancouver, she prefers Los Angeles to New York, and she wants to go to France and Spain someday.

Kate doesn’t get involved in politics much, but if she were President of the United States just for a week, she’d probably reverse every decision that America had made in the last couple of years.

Kate enjoys good music. On the show, her favorite group was Sleater-Kinney. Her most favorite music group is Led Zeppelin. She thinks that’s the band of all time because she can listen to them over and over again. Kate also likes karaoke, and if she had to chose a song to sing it would be “Papa Don’t Preach” by Madonna.

Some of Kate’s cast mates consider her a very bad driver because she used to live in New York where she could walk everywhere. As she moved to Los Angeles, she began driving, and her car is like a toy for her. In response to being a bad driver, Kate said that she just drives fast.
