I went to bed that night with a head full of thoughts and images,
I wasn’t sure that day 2 would top it.
Boy how wrong I was!
I made sure I queued up early for my, ahem..., photo with Jennifer...,
that photo that kept me awake most of the night..., but I must admit
to a grin from ear to ear when I saw her, she looked amazing. She
did the day before, but today, today she was geez, someone pass
some oxygen...
I was so very pleased to note that the chairs were closer together
than the day before, and some hints from some friends was to make
sure I parked my behind non central, ‘that way you will be
closer to her’... I liked that theory, and it worked! I asked
her how she was today and I think that the effort brought her smile
a little wider..., well that’s what I’m telling myself...,
she seemed so much more relaxed on Sunday too, it was to nice to
see.
The afternoon Q&A was good with Jennifer, Laurel and Rachel,
there were high emotions once again, the tissues were being passed
from one seat to another, then back again... but everything lightened
up when Janina came back on stage and they announced they were going
to do a charity auction.
Jennifer explained that she had a couple of photographs that she
had taken on set of Kate, I nudged my partner, “Shall I?”,
“What on earth for, you don’t like Kate...!” That
was a good point, I sat on my hands and resisted the temptation
just because Jennifer took the photograph.
I gave her a nudge again, there was another photograph, with the
set of books that Mia had written, I was again met with, “What
on earth for, you don’t like Mia...!” Again, that was
another fair point, I think my hands were going a bit dead by this
point.
Well now we have ‘The Vest’... that one Bette wore
during the basketball game, oh and yeah there was going to be Jennifer’s
script with all her notes and baby sleeping schedule, all written
in her own hand..., oh and Sean Harry was going to throw in a Gold
Ticket for L6...
I think now was the time to release my hands...
But hell fire..., someone just shouted out a mega bid..., there’s
no way I could get into a battle when that was the starting bid...,
I was already defeated and deflated!
But what was that..., ‘one last item, we saved the best
till last...’ I think my next nudge was a bit harder and she
just smiled at me, I think that’s when I started to fidget!
Did Jennifer just say ‘one of a kind..., self portrait...,
in her trailer..., just been swimming and was feeling ‘sassy’’
I stood up and shouted a bid..., there was a ripple of laughter
so I sat back down, ‘semi naked...’ I stood back up
and doubled that bid... but there was Jennifer saying ‘we
haven’t started yet... and if this ends up on the internet,
I know who did it!’ Okay..., I get the message, but I still
couldn’t help fidgeting..., bring it on!
Well, the next few minutes are a bit of a blur..., I know my hand
was in the air quite a bit, I know my heart was pounding just as
fast as it had earlier when I had sat next to Jennifer, I know my
mouth was drier than the Sahara..., and my hands, shaking doesn’t
even come close!
I heard the mad auctioneer Janina shouting ‘going once...’,
Jesus my chest was pounding so hard..., damn another bid somewhere
in the room. Up it went again for a couple of bids, ‘going
once...’, why was she taking her time, I decided to stand
and shouted ‘HURRY UP!’ I think she got the message
when she said quicker than lightening ‘going, going gone...!’
“Fucking Hell. I just won Jennifer’s picture.”
I think I then had an out of body experience because that person
waving her arms in the air and running up to the stage isn’t
really me, Jobadge doesn’t let herself go like that!
I couldn’t speak, although as I was holding Jennifer’s
hand while she was on the stage I did try to!
I think I shook my head for the next hour, did all that really
happen?
Surreal moments. Oh and I think I should now look to be selling
an organ of some sort...
So after my flexible plastic friend did its business, (well I
couldn’t scoop a kidney out there and then could I...?) I
was told that Jennifer would personalise the auction items for each
person. It only at this time that I actually got a look at my purchase...
Yeah I know, probably off my head, but hell fire, once in a lifetime
just came up and bit me in the ass.
We managed to race back to the room for the camera, just in case
there was another photo opportunity – well you never know...
We queued before the ‘official’ autograph session started,
I don’t think my heart had calmed down since that auction
began, now it was for an entirely different reason...
God that woman is stunning, she smiled wide and we had a chat,
asking what I would like written..., personalised or just a signature...,
oh that one was easy... “Personalised..., this is mine and
nobody will be getting their hands on it!” I think she kinda
liked that answer ?
I made a gentle request for a photo, well you could have knocked
me down with a feather as she just pulled the chairs aside and clambered
over. But it was next that left me feeling slightly weak at the
knees...
She flung her arm around my shoulder so I snuck mine around her
waist..., making sure I had a secure hold! I think I was visiting
heaven a lot this weekend... I keep looking at that picture! Ahhh...
I have to say everyone’s reaction to the auction was amazing,
‘congratulations’, ‘well done Jobadge’,
‘let’s have a look’, ‘ooh can I see...’,
‘I can’t believe it was you up there’.
Well, yes it was me and I have been salivating over it ever since.
Prized position and not going anywhere but on our wall.
There were so many memorable moments to this weekend, the friends
we became reacquainted with, the new friends we made, the time to
sit and talk to people with a common interest, the time to just
sit back and go... ‘ah Jennifer...’
Those women:
Janina – what a girl, live wire doesn’t even come close,
she was unexpectedly impressive and what an auctioneer!
Rachel – what a stunner, makes me proud to be British! She
has an incredible natural beauty – so my partner keeps telling
me!!
Laurel – what a gorgeous woman with a heart to match, a perfect
fit for Ms Beals I would say!
Jennifer – Jennifer, Jennifer, Jennifer..., what an absolute
woman, Jennifer you made my dreams come true this weekend.
Jilly – what a woman! You might not know her, but I do and
she is!
What a fucking amazing weekend. I did say words failed me, but
I think writing all this would be me telling a lie there.
So I’ll end this with one thing... Does anyone want to buy
a kidney?
