The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) has nominated The L Word for Outstanding Drama Series for the second year in a row. Other nominees for this year's Outstanding Drama Series include Commander in Chief (ABC), Queer as Folk (Showtime), Six Feet Under (HBO), and South of Nowhere (The N). Last year, Six Feet Under won in this category for the fourth time.
Also nominated is former L Word guest star Sharon Isbin, for Outstanding Music Artist for her CD, Rodrigo, Villa-Logos, Ponce: Guitar Concertos.
At last year's GLAAD Media Awards in San Francisco, Jennifer Beals received the Golden Gate Award, which honors a member of the entertainment or media community for their outstanding contribution in combating homophobia. Ilene Chaiken presented the award to Beals.
The 17th Annual GLAAD Media awardswill be televised on Logoand VH1. The Logo airdate is April 15, 2006 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT). The VH1 airdate is April 16 at 11 p.m. (ET/PT).
