PRESS RELEASE:
Emerge, the LGBT charity weekend created by women for women in
2006, explodes back on the national LGBT scene May 4th through May
6th bigger than ever. Ladies, this will be a weekend you will not
want to miss!
Produced by the Sapphire Fund during Equality Forum weekend, Emerge
2007 expands on multiple levels. Based on the sell-out success of
last year's main event, Emerge 2007 welcomes celebrity hosts, a
bigger main event venue, special performances, and additional weekend
events to create a unique, unparalleled party experience.
Kim Stolz, mtvU VJ, Elite Model, and former "America's Next
Top Model" contestant will host Emerge on Friday, May 4th.
Kim Stolz has been an active supporter of LGBT causes including
the "Out 100" Awards, which honor annual significant contributions
to gay life. "Loving Annabelle" co-stars Erin Kelly and
Diane Gaidry will also be attending the Emerge main event, and participating
in an exclusive movie screening with q & a session for "Loving
Annabelle" later in the weekend. Brazilian Milenna Saraiva,
co-star of "Work Out" and appearing in the upcoming show
"America's Top Trainers" will also be amongst the celebrity
guests. Milenna is a highly talented artist and one of the top personal
trainers in Los Angeles.
Emerge is thrilled to call the Trocadero Theatre home for its main
event. A restored 1940s burlesque theatre with a 1,200 person capacity,
the Trocadero offers the perfect backdrop for the night's festivities.
Performing at Emerge 2007 are the sexiest, most daring darlings
of burlesque, the Hellcat Girls. For the past four years, the Hellcat
Girls have pushed the envelope of live burlesque entertainment with
a spectrum of classic, neo, and rock n' roll striptease and cabaret.
Spinning at the main event Friday night will be DJs Melissa and
Erica the Baraness.
Join us Saturday afternoon, May 5th, at the Society Hill Playhouse,
as celebrity actresses Erin Kelly and Diane Gaidry screen their
2006 summer LGBT film festival favorite "Loving Annabelle"
and conduct a question and answer session. The Society Hill Playhouse,
located in Center City, is a 100 seat theatre, and housed in the
historic David Garrick Hall. This century-old building with its
Victorian pressed tin walls and ceilings create the perfect atmosphere
to watch this romantic, intimate love story unfold.
To wrap up the weekend experience, Emerge will throw a closing
party at Bleu Martini on Sunday, May 6th. Women can mingle over
delicious drinks and appetizers while indulging in the sounds of
DJs Jivey and JD.
