As an avid The L Word fan, I had previously attended two
conventions in London, so before I will tell you about this upcoming
event, here are the five important things you need to know about
the L Conventions while you’re deciding if you want
to buy your ticket:
1. You’ll be broke or in debt for the rest of your life
2. You won’t have enough sleep and will be tired all the time
3. If you’re a not a smoker you’ll become one or will
spend extra time trying to find a bit of fresh air inside the convention
venue.
4. Late night dinners at McDonalds will become luxury meals after
spending all day long being busy with the convention activities
and having no time to eat. You might even lose some weight
5. You will meet The L Word actresses (at this event you will see
Leisha Hailey, Kate Moennig and Anne Ramsey
so far, so there are possibilities for more cast members), you will
meet with your old friends and make new ones and ultimately you
will have so much fun that the four abovementioned points won’t
even matter.
You would enjoy your time at the convention even if your favorite
cast member won’t be there because all the ladies of the
L Word are wonderful, beautiful, charming and funny. By the
end of the convention you will feel as they became like a big family
or a group of friends that anyone could only dream to have in their
lives and I’m personally grateful that The L Word
cast members are taking their time to come and to share with us
their experiences on the show.
This event in Los Angeles is organized by STARFURY, which is the
Europe’s top provider of numerous conventions for fans of
the TV shows. The company has been running different events in the
UK for the last 10 years and this year they are bringing their style
of events and movie conventions into the US.
The LA Convention will be held at the Element,
one of Hollywood’s most prestigious nightclubs, which provides
a perfect setting for the convention to accommodate a large group
of people. This venue offers a touch of Hollywood glamour, and is
situated within a walking distance of many popular landmarks.
The LA Convention offers two different passes and one of them,
Planet Pass, includes a few extra evening activities. Planet Pass
holders will be invited to exclusive meet & greet celebrity
parties on Friday and Saturday nights held at La Cantina.
Other activities at the convention will include Question&Answers
sessions during all three days, autograph sessions with each guest,
a professional picture taken with any guest that you choose and
of course, dances and parties.
