Desperately clinging to her youth

by New Dawn Fades

My take on the Cherie Jaffe thing..

We all know her. She is older. Kinda sexy in the right light. She wants and needs you. She asks no questions. She tells you how great you are all the time even though if you had any guts you would see plain as day that you are a fuck up. She lets you fuck the shit out of her. We all know her. What we don’t know it is why she never wants to fuck you. Why everything has to be on her terms. Why if the feelings where so strong why she choose not to fight for you. And by you I mean Shane.

Been surfing through the boards and I find it funny how everyone is shocked by CJ’s behavior towards Shane. I have found that a fair amount of the fans who were into the whole Shane and Cherie thing were surprised by it.

I can’t see why.

I mean it’s all there. It’s all been there right in front of all of us. This sudden change is not sudden. We are talking about a character that had no problem cheating on her husband with a younger woman. We are talking about the fact that not once did we ever see CJ give Shane anything but money and trinkets for her "services." We are talking about a woman who had no problem with Shane bringing Carmen along for some kind of weekend three-way. Let’s also not forget the glaring truth that she wanted nothing to do with Shane until after her husband left. And considering the partying she likes to partake in maybe he left because she was bleeding him dry.

She claims bitterness of being chosen only after Shane decided and rightfully so to not marry Carmen. Don’t get me wrong I love Shane and Carmen being together. I really do. But married no…they have problems. Not just in regards to CJ but to the fact that they can’t seem to get out of their own way. The cycle of you hurt me I hurt you more. You challenge me. I run away. There is no room for that in marriage....especially if you are gonna keep acting like teenagers. Should Shane have left the way she did? I think we have discussed that to death.

This isn’t about Sharmen. It’s about an old bitter washed up character that finally showed us what she was really like on the inside. If we the viewing audience are to believe in any way that is rational or sound that Shane and Cherie belonged together… in anyway shape or form, then why the hell didn’t CJ try for once try to fill Shane’s needs? Or maybe how about asking if Shane had any needs….except for the need to escape her reality.

So boohoo CJ is a bitch. She is cokehead party animal desperately clinging to her youth even if she had to drain it from the only kid who could stand to be around her. She can’t love Shane or feel anything at all for Shane because that would mean she would have had to give up her Hollywood wife...life. In the end she choose not to. She choose instead to taunt her little trick. To mock her little trick because like her husband Shane choose the younger sleeker model. CJ bitterness is only heightened by Shane's want to not fuck her brains out.

So in closing We all know this woman. We have all...well maybe not all.... but somewhere along the line we have met CJ and with any luck we will turn around and head the other way.

This could change. Really it could, given the bizarre way IC and co have chose to portray it but I am not holding my breath.

Comments: Outstanding editorial! Very good insight into CJ's behavior--you've convinced me it wasn't as much of a turnaround for her character as I thought. More so, it was a natural progression. Please submit more editorials like this! It's terrific to read intelligent, well written pieces like this. Thank you!
