Finally here!!!
With all the season 3 spoilers out there, and I must admit that
I have read them, I was worried about the start of the new season.
My overall opinion as a fan was both elation and disappointed. I
was so glad to see the crazy, hilarious Alice back, what a breath
of fresh air. Let's hope we get to see a lot more of that writing.
On the other hand I missed not seeing any of her relationship with
Dana, either good or bad. What happened that they seperated??
This six month jump really seems like closer to a year. Bette doesn't
seem to have changed, she seems totally wired and bent all out of
shape like during season 1/2. It would have been nice to see the
more retrospective, thoughtful Bette who was trying to get back
with Tina. Not to mention that Tina seems to be taking a back seat
again to Bette. For this first episode she is the meek, doormat
that gets stepped on. Both of these characters don't feel like a
continuation of what we saw at the end of S2. I realize that a baby
makes a huge difference in a family and most likely Bette and Tina
have not really resolved any deep issues. But after seeing them
reconnect and now as far apart as we've ever seen them it's not
what I was hoping for. We went thru all this struggle for autonomy
last season...for what?? Tina come back pls!!!
Totally love this new Helena..I think so many people were Helena
haters last season it's really cool to see another side to her character.
Another bright spot in this new season. This romance with Alice
is going to be terrific, they are so different and I hope the writers
have a field day with this duo. Alice was the best part of this
first installment...
whoops, I almost forgot Jenny..yup, still wierd, parked in left
field and really takes up way too much onscreen time. The only lucky
part is that Mia is a great actress and pulls it off.
Bottom line is that we're all glad that to have another season
ahead of us. Let's hope that it's just a terrible rumour that JB
won't be back...and that somewhere hopefully us diehard B/T fans
will be rewarded with an eventual reconnection. Regardless let's
sit back and enjoy!!!
