Losing It Episode Summary
A rising artist in New York tests Bette's commitment while the sperm donor's girlfriend discovers a lonely Tina and starts harassing her; Tim returns home alone while Jenny gets a ride from two disaffected teenagers.
Shane pays a visit to a club with Clive to be formally introduced to Harry Samchuck, who continues to labor under the illusion that Shane is a man. Clive reveals Shane's past experience with prostitution and tells Harry about her current profession as a hairdresser. He agrees to hook Shane up with the very powerful Sherry Jaffe whose approval could make or break Shane's career. She celebrates by taking a hit of drugs.
Tim tries to work off his frustrations with a late-night boxing session.
When he encounters Bette returning from a shopping trip to fulfill Tina's
Slurpee craving, he decides to spill his guts. He reveals his embarrassment
over being had and his regret over his ill-advised marriage. Bette tries
to offer some justification for Jenny's behavior and inadvertently reveals
that the affair consisted of more than just what he witnessed. Despite
his anger, Tim agonizes over Jenny's well-being and attempts to track
her down through phone calls and a police report.
Despite Tina's best efforts to overcome it, her morning sickness prevents
her from accompanying Bette to New York to attend a dinner in her honor.
At the urging of her yoga teacher, Tina makes an appointment to visit
an acupuncturist to help with her ailment. Tina encounters Marcus Allenwood
in the waiting room and tells him the good news, which comes as a very
unhappy surprise to his current girlfriend, who accosts Tina outside of
the doctor's office and declares her and Marcus's legal rights to the
child. Tina tries, unsuccessfully, to reach Bette by phone to express
her anxiety.
Alice, experiencing feelings of loneliness, seeks solace in the company
of Lisa, who exhibits an uncanny ability to empathize with Alice's frustrations
and Tina's pregnancy issues.
Shane, still suffering the effects of her late-night partying, manages
to pull herself together enough to do a first-rate job on the hair of
Ellie Zimmer, another member of the Hollywood power elite.
A dazed Jenny composes a disturbing letter to Tim offering him her "heart"
and accepts a ride from two teenagers who offer her drugs, which she readily
accepts. On the ride home, Jenny shares her story with the youngsters.
Tina arrives home to find a gift basket from Bette and an answering machine
full of angry messages from Marcus Allenwood's girlfriend. She is comforted
by the arrival of her friends who distract her with an evening of poker
and ribbing on Alice's sexual preferences. Later, unable to sleep during
the communal slumber party, Dana and Lara begin having sex and are interrupted
by Kit's notification that people are in fact, still awake.
Bette enjoys the attention and commendation surrounding her at the New
York event, but is forced to cut her trip short when she receives Tina's
worrying messages and is unable to reach her. Bette regretfully informs
Peggy Peabody of her need to return home causing her to miss the event
in her honor.
Tim goes to The Planet in search of Jenny and angrily confronts Marina
on the role she played in Jenny's betrayal. Marina drives the knife in
deeper by laughing off Tim's anger and reminding him of how much sex with
Jenny "counted".
Marcus Allenwood arrives at the house to apologize to Tina for his girlfriend's
actions and assures Tina that she will cease bothering her. Bette arrives
home and expresses a mix of relief that everything is okay and annoyance
at being called away from her big night.
