  "Late, Later, Latent"

Summary by Stacy Turner

The opening scene shows two people in a shower having sex. One of the people gets out of the shower to use the restroom and we see the other person get out and sit on top of them. We then see that it is Jenny and Carmen and they both go to the bathroom at the same time and then begin to have sex. We cut to see Mark dancing around outside the restroom complaining about how long the girls have been in there. Shane starts knocking on the door and telling the girls to hurry up. When they don't answer, she opens the door and finds them together on the toilet. Shane looks shocked and closes the door. She tells Mark to go pee in a bush and he runs outside.

Mark is in a meeting showing someone the footage that he has gotten so far. It is a compilation of interviews with Jenny, Carmen, Shane, Dana and Alice. Once he is done viewing the footage the guy in the meeting gets upset because there isn’t any sex in it. Mark tells the guy that the hidden cameras are still in place but what he has shown him so far is much better than his previous work. The guy gets upset and tells him that he doesn’t care about anything other than the sex and that Mark has to give him back all the money that was advanced to him.

Alice and Dana are in bed together. Alice is taking off Dana’s shoes and socks and asks her if she has thought about using a sex toy. Dana asks her if using one is some sort of bisexual thing to which Alice replies no. Dana makes her stop again and says that she doesn’t want to do it if it’s because Alice feels like there is something missing and wants to be with a man. Alice reassures her that many lesbians find it as an alternate way of having sex, and she just thinks that it would be hot if Dana used a toy on her.

Tina is laying in bed and she overhears Helena on the phone with her ex Winnie. Helena is telling Winnie that the judge will choose her because she can give the kids more things. When she hangs up the phone Tina pretends like she is asleep. Helena walks over and Tina opens her eyes and tells her that she is excited about the ultrasound that she will be having later in the day. Helena tells her to give her a call and she will pick her up for the appointment, but Tina reminds her that Bette will be going with her instead. She looks a little jealous and then tells Tina that she can come by later and spend time with her. They then decide that they should go to Tina’s instead because it’s closer to the doctor’s office.

Shane is walking through a set and an assistant is telling her about her new job. Shane asks the woman who exactly hired her. The girl responds by saying the most powerful woman in Hollywood. Then you can hear a woman shouting and by the look on Shane’s face she knows that it’s Veronica Bloom. Shane goes to talk with Veronica and asks her why she hired her. Veronica says that it’s because she sees something in her. Shane gets upset and tells her that there is nothing special about herself. Veronica then tells her if that's the case then do her hair, but Shane says no.

Bette and Kit are at the Planet talking about how Benjamin is coming into town. Bette tells Kit that she doesn’t want her to get hurt. Kit tells her that he is coming down just to see her and she knew what the rules were before they started dating. Kit then tells Bette that she is planning a special dinner for him. After they talk a little more Bette tells Kit she has to leave. Kit asks Bette if she can bring back a picture of the baby from the ultrasound for her.

Jenny meets with her writing teacher at a restaurant. Her teacher tells Jenny that she is perfect to help her friend with his memoirs that’s why she insisted that they all meet. Jenny tells her that she doesn’t like him because he is homophobic. As she is saying that he walks up behind her and sits down.

Alice and Dana go to a sex shop. As they are looking at things a saleswoman comes over and starts explaining everything. There is a lot of funny banter between the two girls. At one point the woman mentions a new lube that they just got in. Alice says that she is allergic to that kind and Dana turns around and asks her what she hasn’t done. Alice tells Dana that she hasn’t done a lot of things, but she wants to try it with her. They smile at each other and Dana turns around and recognizes a woman in the store. She pulls her sweater over her mouth and puts her sunglasses on to disguise herself.

Bette and Tina are at the doctor’s office getting the ultrasound of the baby done. Both Bette and Tina have huge smiles on their faces as they see their baby on the monitor. As they are looking Bette reaches over and holds Tina’s hand.

Jenny is still at the restaurant with her teacher and the actor. He tells her that nowadays it’s hot for women to be lesbians, but it’s not acceptable for men to be gay. He then says that hypothetically if an actor were to come out then it would ruin his career. He leaves the restaurant and Jenny goes outside to talk with him. She tells him that she agrees with what he said about a male actor coming out and ruining their career. He tells her that if she still wants to work with him then go to his house the next night.

Bette is helping Tina put away her groceries. Tina tells Bette to come to her and they hug each other. Bette tells Tina that she feels so good, to which Tina kisses Bette. They begin passionately kissing and Tina takes off Bette’s shirt. We cut to see them getting into bed. They kiss more and then Tina takes Bette’s hand and puts it between her legs. Bette gasps and asks Tina if she is sure about having sex with her, and Tina responds with a kiss. They wind up making love with each other.

Shane is cutting Marks hair and he makes a joke about it being too much like a dyke haircut. Then they start talking about how he thought that Shane could hook him up with Veronica Bloom professionally. He thinks that if maybe she saw his film then she would be interested in making it into a big production. As they are talking Carmen walks in and says that she wants to talk with Shane. Mark tells them that he has to go do some work and he goes into his studio and watches their conversation. Carmen talks about how her and Jenny are just together until they find the “real deal” and that she knows that is what she has with Shane. She tells Shane that she has to put her guard down and realize that a relationship wont kill her.

Tina walks Bette to her front door. Bette tells her that she realizes that just because they had sex doesn’t mean that they are together. Tina tells her that she doesn’t want what just happened to mess everything up and Bette understands.

Later on Helena shows up and finds Tina not dressed to go out. Tina asks if they can just stay in tonight and Helena says yes. Tina starts to kiss Helena and tells her that all she wants to do it have sex all night long. Helena becomes a little freaked out and tells her that she is uncomfortable because Tina isn’t being herself. Tina starts to freak out also and ask her if she isn’t turned on because there isn’t an audience. Then Tina opens her door and starts screaming out that she is about to have sex and tells people that they can come watch. Helena decides that Tina needs to be alone so she leaves.

Bette is having a therapy session with Dan Foxworthy. She tells him about her and Tina having sex even though they were trying to form a new friendship. She tells him that it was incredible to have sex with her because for that moment she felt like her life hadn’t fallen apart. She also said that at the same time it was sad because she knew that someone else had been touching her and making love to her. She tells him that since they have broken up Tina is a completely different person, she is more confident. He asks her if that’s a good thing and she says yes, but that means that she wont need Bette anymore.

Dana pulls up in front of a shop and gets out of her car. She straightens her clothing and takes a breath. She has a very determined look on her face. She starts walking and we see her go back into the sex shop alone this time.

Jenny knocks on Marks door but he doesn’t answer. The door opens and she goes inside looking for the DVD’s that she needs to help write the memoirs. As she is looking around she finds a tape labeled “Shane/ Carmen Love Confession. Jenny watches the tape and looks hurt by the things that Carmen says on it.

Bette is having a meeting with a woman about an art show. As they are talking Helena walks in and interrupts them. She tells Bette that she will give money for the exhibit but Bette asks her if they can talk about it later in a board meeting. Helena tells her that’s ok but she is going to listen to the rest of the meeting. Bette says that's ok but looks very annoyed.

Helena calls Tina and asks her how she is feeling. Tina says that she feels better and Helena asks her to come to her house. Tina tells her that she’s not some sort of toy that she can just take off the shelf whenever she wants and Helena agrees. Tina also tells her that next time she gives her opinion Helena can’t blame it on the pregnancy and hormones and Helena agrees again.

Jenny goes over to the actors house to work on his memoirs. When she gets there she finds him sparing with another man. They continue to fight until he sees her and he gets punched in the face. They other guy helps him up and asks if he is ok. Then Jenny and the actor sit down and Jenny starts pulling her writing stuff out. The actor notices that Jenny is getting teary eyed and asks her what’s wrong. She says nothing but he goes around to the other side and hugs her as she is crying.

Kit has everything prepared for her dinner with Benjamin. As she is waiting she receives a call from him telling her that he can’t make it because his mother is in the hospital. Kit looks disappointed and tells him that it’s ok and she understands that he needs to be with his family.

Tina goes to Helena’s house and finds her hard at work cooking in the kitchen. She tells Tina that she wants her to sit down and that she is going to wait on her all night. When she sits down, Helena takes her shoes off and begins to give her a foot. massage.

Kit goes to an AA meeting that is being lead by Ivan. Kit tells everyone that she got stood up and that she kept looking over at the bottle of wine that was sitting there. But instead of drinking it she decided to go somewhere where she knew that someone would listen. Ivan takes her to a club where Ivan’s girlfriend works. They sit down and start talking and Kit discovers that Ivan and his girlfriend have been together for five years.

Jenny is talking to the actor about how every time she thinks that things are going well she always messes them up. She also tells him that she feels as if she is on of those people that don't deserve to be happy. He tells her that it’s not true and then proceeds to tell her that he is gay. He also tells her that he lost the love of his life because he was too afraid of what would happen if people found out about him. He tells her that he doesn’t think that she should work for him because she is too good to be working on what he is doing.

Helena is showing Tina the kids rooms in her home. She tells Tina that there is one more and they find a nursery. Helena tells her that it’s for when Tina and the baby decide to stay over. It then cuts to Bette who is hanging a mobile in the nursery that she has created.

Alice is sitting on her bed while Dana is in the bathroom. Dana tells her that she wants to do a little fashion show for her. While she is getting ready you can hear Dana fumbling. When she is finally ready she opens the door and tells Alice not to laugh. She walks out of the bathroom completely naked except for a strap on. Alice smiles and then moves towards Dana and grabs her hand and brings her toward her on the bed.

infedelity and this Hip Hoppish stuff plays in the background.

Quick note, The Sequel: If you lilsten very carefully during Shane and
Veronica's chat, you can hear some guy in the background yell, "We can't
wait until tomorrow, Veronica is going to freak out!!"

Transientworld "Walking Backwards"
Plays at....wherever in the background during Charlotte, Jenny and Burr's
dinner conversation. More Hip Hop/R&B stuff.

Alice and Dana go Dildo shopping. The song rocks. "King Kong and Tyrannus
Rex is like the real thing???" Yeah, if you're Shaq!!!!!! Did I mention
the song rocks? It does. And it gives me something to think about while
Dildomania runs wild on my screen.

Heart "No Other Love"
Plays as the Bette & Tina fans rejoice. Available on the Season 2
Soundtrack and a lovely song on its own by the Wilson Sisters. It's a fun
moment where Tina becomes Bette and Bette becomes Candace.

Plays as we segue from Kit being stood up (Mom in the hospital...sure) to
Bette...er...Tina and Helena together for the evening. The song's not bad.

Plays at the whatever club where the final decimation of Ivan takes place.
Kit was THIS CLOSE to going Foxxy Brown on her. THIS CLOSE!!!!

Jealous Girlfriends "Lay Around"
Plays as we get crib sequences, followed by Dana valiantly putting on her
new Strap On Of Love, much to Alice's delight. The singing reminds me of
Alana Davis. I like the song. And ROLL THE CREDITS!!
