Biography

JENNIFER BEALS (Bette Porter) has come a long way from Flashdance and is looking better than ever. She has had roles in The Anniversary Party and Runaway Jury. In addition to The L Word, Jennifer can currently be seen in Catch That Kid. Apparently, in between takes, she likes to knit and take photos. Bette Porter is an art museum director in a 7 year relationship with Tina Kennard. They have just discovered that they are pregnant. Bette is definitely a Type A, control freak with a quick fuse. Jennifer has said that she possesses these traits as well, but controls them better. Beals began her career after graduation from high school when she auditioned for "Flashdance," resulting in a role which earned her a Golden Globe® nomination, and an NAACP Image Award for Best Actress. In recent years, Beals has had starring roles in a myriad of films, including "The Anniversary Party," "Twilight of the Golds," "The Last Days of Disco," "Roger Dodger," "In the Soup," "Four Rooms," "Vampire's Kiss," "Doctor M.," "Caro Diario," "The Madonna and the Dragon," "Catch That Girl," and "Runaway Jury."
